Sanofi is looking for a proactive, high-energy Associate Director to join the Global Specialty Care Communications team to support strategy and execution of our global oncology communications programs.

The role will focus on:

  1. Design and execution of strategic global communications programming in support of clinical data and regulatory milestones as well as pipeline.
  2. Supporting development of internal communications for our global oncology community.
  3. Creating and managing external campaigns and activities, including scientific congress and publication communications, scientific platform communications for lay audiences, unbranded awareness campaigns, and executive thought leadership.

The position will report to the Global Head of Oncology Communications and will be based at one of our key US sites (Cambridge, Massachusetts; Bridgewater, New Jersey or Washington D.C.).

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design and manage comprehensive global external communications strategy and plans for global oncology portfolio priorities and pipeline.
  • Support in the development of plans around congresses and conferences.
  • Assist in the creation of key communications materials (i.e. press releases, stand by statements, Q&A, key messages, narratives).
  • Develop and execute strategic internal communications platform aimed at the global oncology community.
  • Direct and deliver effective thought leadership communications around specific activities/leaders, linked to business strategies.
  • Partner closely with Public Affairs on development and execution of global unbranded disease state education campaigns.
  • Understand the competitive landscape and ensure strategic positioning for the brand.
  • Collaborate with the Heads of Communications and partners across functions to ensure alignment with global strategies (commercial, medical, market access, communications, HEOR, R&D, Global Media Relations, Investor Relations, etc.).
  • Work with priority and international markets to ensure the successful execution of the global brand communications strategy while ensuring support for local communications tactics.
  • Understand how to manage day-to-day partnership with global communications agencies, including budget oversight.
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically to develop awareness campaigns and mobilize action.

About You

Qualifications:

  • A bachelors degree in Communications, Journalism or a related scientific field is required.
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of corporate communications experience in the Pharmaceutical and/or Biotechnology area is preferred (product communications, agency experience preferred), but open to another highly regulated industry.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical product areas is required.
  • Ability to travel 20% overall.
  • All global communications are in English language, so this role requires fluent English writing skills.
