General Purpose The BMS Technical Solution Sales Executive will focus on growing our client base for data center facility solutions, particularly related to building automation systems. Responsibilities include identifying and developing BMS strategies to improve efficiency, sustainability, and energy performance. The role involves collaboration with controls engineers, sales engineers, project managers, and client stakeholders to audit systems, develop control strategies, build proposals, and close opportunities. A consultative sales approach is essential, with travel required for on-site evaluations and client engagement. Here's What You'll Do Evaluate existing systems in data centers and commercial/industrial facilities, proposing tailored BMS solutions to optimize performance, energy use, costs, and occupant comfort. Conduct site audits to understand facility needs and identify opportunities. Create and revise solution scopes to meet ROI, payback, and performance targets. Present strategies and proposals to decision-makers, facility managers, and engineers. Manage the full sales cycle from pipeline development to deal closure, including negotiations. Develop a territory-specific sales plan with targets and growth strategies. Use business and financial knowledge to craft compelling value propositions aligned with client goals. Coordinate with internal stakeholders for customized deal structures and positioning. Qualify opportunities and manage demand generation efforts. Engage in high-level conversations to understand business priorities and strategic objectives. Navigate complex accounts with multiple sites or high operational complexity. Share best practices and support coaching within the sales team. Collaborate with utility providers and internal teams to qualify projects for incentives and rebates. Influence building standards and drive solution specifications with consultants and engineers. Coordinate with solution engineers and project teams to ensure project feasibility and profitability. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders. Travel for client meetings, site visits, and presentations (estimated 40–50%). Qualifications 5+ years of complex solution selling experience in building automation, energy efficiency, or data center environments. Proven success in closing projects of $5M or more. Experience with engineers, contractors, and utility incentive programs. Knowledge of OEM building control platforms, automation architecture, and integration strategies. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM tools like Salesforce preferred. Skills of the Job Deep understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, controls, and integration platforms. Strong consultative selling and relationship management skills. Ability to translate technical info into business value. Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive with a growth mindset. Excellent communication skills. Passion for learning and innovation in smart building tech. Salary range: $125,000 - $375,000 per year (OTE, including base + commission).
