TransCargo is a specialized third-party logistics company (3PL) dedicated to facilitating transportation and supply chain solutions for the construction of renewable energy projects. With a focus on the renewable energy sector, we provide tailored freight brokerage and warehousing services to support the timely and efficient delivery of equipment, materials, and components necessary for the development and construction of renewable energy facilities.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Carrier Onboarding Manager to lead the onboarding process for new carriers at TransCargo. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring all carrier partners meet compliance requirements, are properly vetted, and are set up for success within our network. This role is critical in building strong, reliable partnerships and ensuring a seamless freight transportation process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carrier Onboarding & Vetting
  • Manage end-to-end carrier onboarding, including document collection, verification, and system setup.
  • Conduct thorough vetting and compliance checks (e.g., FMCSA, insurance, safety ratings, TIA standards).
  • Ensure timely onboarding to meet capacity needs and service goals.
  • Compliance & Documentation
  • Verify and maintain up-to-date records including W-9s, insurance certificates, carrier agreements, and operating authorities.
  • Ensure all carriers meet regulatory and company standards before activation.
  • Relationship Management
  • Serve as the first point of contact for new carrier partners, providing onboarding support and guidance.
  • Collaborate with Carrier Sales and Compliance teams to maintain strong partnerships and ongoing engagement.
  • Process Improvement & Reporting
  • Continuously improve onboarding workflows for efficiency and scalability.
  • Track onboarding KPIs and generate regular reports on carrier activation and performance.
  • Technology & Systems
  • Manage data entry and integrity in TMS (Transportation Management System) and any onboarding platforms (e.g., Highway, RMIS, MyCarrierPackets).
  • Leverage tools to streamline document management and compliance monitoring.
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in carrier onboarding, transportation compliance, or freight brokerage operations.
  • Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, insurance requirements, and freight brokerage compliance.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation abilities.
  • Familiarity with TMS platforms (e.g., McLeod, DAT, Truckstop) and onboarding tools like RMIS or MyCarrierPackets.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or Google Workspace.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a freight brokerage or 3PL setting.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of EDI/API integrations or data automation tools.
