The Clinical Social Worker in Outpatient Psychiatry at Boston Children’s Hospital provides comprehensive psychosocial assessments, diagnoses, and tailored treatment plans for children and adolescents. They support patients and families coping with complex personal and medical challenges, and provide clinical supervision to student interns. This role requires a Master's in Social Work, LICSW licensure, and experience in pediatric or medical social work environments.

Position Summary/Department Summary:
The BCH Outpatient Psychiatry Service offers comprehensive evaluations for a wide range of conditions that affect the mental, emotional, and social health of children and adolescents. New patients receive a diagnostic evaluation and specific treatment recommendations tailored to the child and family. We are currently seeking a 40-hour experienced social work to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing clinical social work services to assist patients and families cope with complex personal, family, medical and environmental problems.
• Performing psychosocial and risk assessments, assigning diagnoses and developing and implementing interventions and treatment plans.
• Providing clinical supervision to student interns.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

• Master's degree in Social Work

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years plus of Social Work experience required
• Experience with children/adolescents and medical environment is highly desirable.
• Previous social work supervisory experience preferred
• Flexibility and ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Spanish language skills strongly preferred

Licensure/Certification:

• LICSW in the state of MA
