Job Title: Medical Receptionist / Clinical Secretary

Location: New Haven, CT

Employment Type: Full-Time

Shift: 7.5-hour shifts scheduled between 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM (must be available during these hours)

Experience Level: Intermediate

Overview:

Join a leading hospital organization in New Haven as a Medical Receptionist / Clinical Secretary, where you'll play a vital role in supporting clinical operations and ensuring smooth patient experiences. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong Epic experience and a background in medical reception or patient registration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Answer and triage incoming phone calls with professionalism and accuracy
• Perform data entry and patient lookups in Epic
• Manage incoming faxes and route appropriately
• Take detailed medical notes and assist with documentation
• Register patients and schedule appointments
• Handle and maintain medical records in compliance with hospital standards
• Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and staff

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in Epic EMR system
• Patient registration and scheduling experience
• Strong understanding of medical terminology
• Experience with triage and medical record handling
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in a hospital or large healthcare setting
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.
