Payroll Specialist needed for large company:
• Review, approve and process process payroll for 1350+ employees.
• Process payroll for prevailing wage projects, including Davis Bacon, California DIR and state of Nevada wage and reporting requirements.
• Maintain current prevailing wages for Davis Bacon, DIR and Nevada and provide to the Estimating team for bidding.
• Report hours and fringe benefit information for monthly trust fund reporting and process payments.
• Prepare Certified payroll in LCP Tracker, Elations, DIR and other required systems.
• Complete all required forms and notices for prevailing wage projects, including DAS 140 & DAS 142
• Maintain full compliance with apprenticeship requirements including reporting and payments to California Apprenticeship Council and state of Nevada.
• Track and maintain section 3 hiring for required projects.
• Review sign in sheets for correct labor classifications and hours.
• Prepare weekly wage adjustments and journal entries for accounting ERP.
• Performs basic wage and hour compliance checks.
• Import, enter and reconcile labor costing.
• Process paid time off for hourly and salaried employees. Assist with auditing paid time off accruals.
• Review and process direct deposit accounts, deduction changes, withholding orders/garnishments and wage increases.
• Produce off-cycle manual checks.
• Process separation pay for departing employees.
• Research and answer questions from employees related to payroll topics including timekeeping, accounting system and paid time off.
Desired Sills and Qualifications:
• 3+ years of payroll processing experience, labor costing preferred
• Union Payroll experience
• Advanced Excel and Outlook skills and experience
• Experience with payroll and electronic timekeeping systems
• High level of attention to detail
• Strong math and analytical skills
