Job Description

AdventHealth for Children is seeking a Pediatric Cardiac Surgery and Congenital Heart Surgeon to join our program in Orlando. This surgeon will provide pediatric cardiac surgery at AdventHealth for Children in Orlando.

Requirements of the position:

• Board Certification or Eligibility by the American Board of Surgery and American Board of Thoracic Surgery, with a focus on Congenital Cardiac Surgery
• Active Florida medical license or ability to obtain one
• Ability to perform the full spectrum of pediatric cardiac surgeries, including neonatal surgery, adult congenital, and mechanical circulatory support
• Pediatric Heart Failure and Heart Transplantation specialist with UNOS certification is preferred but not required
• Team-oriented mentality, with participation in multidisciplinary daily rounds

Hospital Overview:

Our Walt Disney Pavilion at AdventHealth for Children is a full-service, tertiary childrens hospital with over 200 dedicated pediatric beds, including a 22-bed PICU, 10-bed Cardiac ICU, 102-bed NICU, pediatric emergency department, and statewide pediatric network and transport system. We began our comprehensive pediatric open-heart program in 2012 and have a strong track record of positive outcomes. Our programs include a level IV Epilepsy program, expanded NICU beds, and pediatric liver transplant services, among others.

AdventHealth for Children is located near many beautiful homes, downtown attractions, shopping, and excellent schools. Orlando is renowned for its attractions such as Universal Studios, Walt Disney World, beaches, and vibrant sports and arts scenes.

Practice Overview:

This is an employed position through AdventHealth Medical Group (AHMG), a 600+ physician, multi-specialty organization offering a competitive salary and benefits, including malpractice coverage, health insurance, relocation, paid leave, a 403b retirement plan, CME days, and CME allowance.
