Plans, organizes and implements social work services for patients living with HIV during their inpatient stay. Completes Ryan White Program intakes and assessments. Counsels patients/families about the basic medical and psychosocial aspects of HIV/AIDS in order to optimize adherence to care. Provides psychotherapy services for patients and their families. Conducts family therapy with participants in research study including documentation. Prepares psychosocial reports and maintains necessary records. Schedules patient appointments and provides telephone follow-up. Facilitates referrals and community resources for patients/families. Verifies insurance coverage for patients. Answers inquiries from patients/families about community resources. Maintains current knowledge of medical and psychosocial developments concerning HIV/AIDS and related conditions, and routinely interacts with providers, clinicians, pharmacists, and others involved in service delivery. Normal office environment. Typically sitting at a desk or table. Office equipment. Required Qualifications: Master's degree in Social Work. Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Missouri and/or Illinois. Basic Life Support certification. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with people living with HIV and HIV Services. Skills include Active Listening, Case Management, Computer Literacy, Critical Thinking, Cultural Diversity, Customer Empathy, Family Support, HIV AIDS, Insurance Verification, Interpersonal Relationships, Oral Communications, Patient Advocacy, Patient Education, Problem Solving, Time Management, Written Communication. No specific work experience required but preferred 3 years in Social Work and Case Management. Driver's license not required.
