Job Description

The Project Support role provides direct assistance to the Implementation and Operations team in the Desert Southwest District. This position is responsible for supporting and managing various aspects of customer deployments, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and in compliance with company policies and procedures. The role requires strong organizational and coordination skills, with an emphasis on telecom construction, vendor management, documentation, and utility coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management Support:
  • Coordinate and manage one or more aspects of telecom deployments across multiple applications.
  • Track project progress from system entry through construction, closeouts, and customer hand-off.
  • Ensure timely delivery by managing schedules, deliverables, and issue resolution in line with Crown Castle’s standards.
  • Cross-functional Coordination:
  • Collaborate with internal teams (site acquisition, engineering, leasing, construction) and external vendors to gather and maintain all required project documentation (e.g., permits, leases, soil samples, structural analysis).
  • Facilitate resolution of design-related issues such as space limitations, lease entitlements, or easement requirements.
  • Vendor and Utility Coordination:
  • Manage vendor relationships, monitor deliverables, and ensure quality and timeliness of services provided.
  • Coordinate with utility providers for power, telco, and fiber needs related to site deployments.
  • Project Forecasting and Tracking:
  • Maintain accurate forecasting in Project Management Tools including initial and updated timelines.
  • Track materials, Statements of Value (SOV), Purchase Orders (PO), and financial metrics related to each project.
  • Communication and Reporting:
  • Participate in internal and external deployment meetings.
  • Maintain regular communication with project stakeholders, including carrier representatives.
  • Provide timely updates to the District Manager or Lead Project Manager on any issues that could affect timeline or budget.

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Project Management certifications such as CAPM or PMP are preferred.

Experience Requirements:

  • 1–3 years of relevant project management experience, preferably in telecommunications or wireless infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with telecom construction services, fiber networks, and tower maintenance is highly desirable.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of telecom/wireless project management, site acquisition, permitting, and construction.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with a focus on detail and follow-through.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and structural details.
  • Financial literacy with the ability to monitor budgets and identify potential cost issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with project management tools is a plus.
  • Customer-focused with strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively coordinate with diverse internal teams and external stakeholders.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily office-based (95%), with occasional site visits (up to 5%) involving exposure to construction environments and equipment.
