First shift begins at 6:00 AM, Monday through Friday. What You'll Do The General Maintenance employee is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation standards of the distribution warehouse, ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees while complying with health and safety regulations.
- Perform regular cleaning, dusting and sanitation tasks in the warehouse as directed
- Operate power floor sweeper and scrubber to clean floors
- Collect trash and recyclables
- Operate trash compactors and cardboard/plastic bailers to dispose of waste and process recycling
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, including the safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment to prevent accidents and injuries
- Report any safety hazards, sanitation issues or maintenance requirements to the supervisor promptly
- Work with team members and supervisors to ensure the coordination of work
- Ensure that all work is performed to high-quality standards and within specified timelines
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures and sanitation standards
Required for Success - Proven experience in sanitation or custodial work
- Ability to use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and effectively
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain cleanliness standards
- Able to work in various environmental conditions
- Knowledge of safety regulations and a commitment to adhering to safety guideline
- Physical stamina and ability to perform tasks that may require lifting and bending
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to communicate successfully with supervisors and coworkers
